What makes our silk poplin different is its durable thickness combined with sensuous supple texture. Originally this majestic silk fabric was made exclusively for the reigning popes of medieval Europe. It was then known as “papeline” or “papelino.” It’s a weighty 32-momme silk weave, just about the heaviest silk you can imagine. It’s scarce and almost impossible to find. Our silk poplin is made in plain weave silk with fine, strong cross-ribs of silk. Remarkably smooth and supple, silk poplin does not wrinkle, making it effortless or needless to iron. What’s more is that silk poplin is dust-resistant, meaning it does not gather dust. Silk poplin has a smooth, matte finish with a rich, subdued shimmer. The boxer cut is full-sized, full-cut with three-panel construction for roomy comfort. Single-button fly closure features 0.5” mother-of-pearl button. Extra button included. Easy-fit, relaxed elasticized waist. Lengths are 16.5"-17.75" for sizes S-3XL. Inseams about 5.5” for all sizes. Recommend hand wash.
